Day 1: Welcome to Auckland
Transfer from the airport to your accommodation. This evening an evening welcome reception will your Tour Director & fellow travellers followed by dinner.

Day 2: Auckland – Rotorua
Before making your way to Rotorua you will have a city sights tour of Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city.Tracing the Waikato River you travel to Waitomo Caves were a tour Glow Worm Grotto tour awaits. Upon arrival Rotorua, you’ll take in views of Lake Rotorua and more on your orientation tour.
Tonight you will enjoy a traditional Maori Hangi feast and concert for an insight into Maori culture at the Tamaki Family Marae.

Day 3: Rotorua Sights
A visit to the Agrodome sheep Show to gain an insight into agriculture in New Zealand. Then the afternoon is at leisure. You may like to visit Te Puia which will provide an insight into the Maroi, the traditional people of New Zealand and there carving skills together with the importance of thermal hot springs to the Maori. B

Experience genuine hospitality with a farm stay. Comfortable accommodation with dinner & breakfast and an insight into the way of life of a New Zealand farmer.

Day 4: Rotorua – Wellington
Travelling south you will enjoy views of Huka Falls, drive along the shores of New Zealand’s biggest lake, Lake Taupo, admire the alpine scenery of Mt. Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park and the dairy farms of Manawatu. Upon arrival Wellington, New Zealand’s capital you will experience a city sights tour.

Day 5: Wellington – Picton
Morning at leisure in Wellington. A visit to Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand, will provide an insight into New Zealand’s nature, art, history and cultural heritage. The Interislander Ferry will take you across Crook Strait and upon arrival you will enjoy a cruise on Queen Charlotte and a tour of Picton.

Day 6: Picton – Christchurch
Travelling further south along the rugged Pacific Ocean Coast you will have an opportunity to experience a whale watch flight (optional) before continuing on to Christchurch.

Day 7: Christchurch – Omarama
Morning at leisure before commencing your journey across Canterbury plains, through MacKenzie, country. The journey will take you through Lake Tekapo where you will visit the church of the Good Shepherd,then onto Lake Pukaki, before soaking up the alpine landscape of Mount Cook National Park. (Optional scenic flight available).

Day 8: Omarama – Dunedin
Today you head across the South Island along the Waitaki River via Oamaru and into Dunedin renowned for its Scottish influences. Upon arrival a city tour is provided. During the afternoon many optional tours will be available.

Day 9: Dunedin – Te Anau
The morning at leisure before heading off across South Otago’s fertile, sheep-filled farming land en route to Te Anau, on the shores of the largest lake in the South Island. An option is available to visit Te Anau Glow Worm Caves.

Day 10: Te Anau – Queenstown
The scenery today is spectacular as you journey into the Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound, where you’ll cruise on the waters of this natural wonder and admire the spectacle that it is. After the cruise you will journey back through Te Anau to the excitement capital of New Zealand, Queenstown. The day of highlights is completed with a city tour of Queenstown.

Day 11: Queenstown ‘Day at Leisure’
At leisure to explore as you wish with many optional tours available. In the evening cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard New Zealand’s oldest steamship, the TSS Earnslaw, to Walter Peak Station for a carvery ‘Highlight Dinner’ at the Colonel’s Homestead. An entertaining after-dinner farm show provides a glimpse into high-country farm life. B HD
Day 12: Queenstown – Franz Josef
The journey today will take you through Arrowtown, Cromwell and the lakes of Dunstan, Hawea & Wanaka. Travelling over the Haast Pass you will view amazing Thunder Creek Falls before arriving onto the West Coast. Passing Fox Glacier the biggest of the West Coast Glaciers you will make your way to Franz Josef Glacier for your overnight accommodation.

Day 13: Franz Josef – Christchurch
Leaving Franz Josef you travel via Hokitika, home of the native greenstone (jade), for a factory visit and jewellery demonstration. Upon arrival Greymouth you will continue to Arthur’s Pass to board the TranzAlpine, one of the top six train journeys in the world. This spectacular journey takes you through the Southern Alps and across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.
Your holiday is celebrate with a dinner with your Tour Director and new-found friends.

Day 14: Farewell from Christchurch
Your Holiday concludes this morning after breakfast. You’ll be transferred to Christchurch Airport for your onward journey. B
